Ray Young's Homebuilt Recumbent - 10/2004

...And still another way to 'go recumbent'. The price is sure right!

"Here is my attempt at a home built recumbent. I have about $28.oo in the whole project. Started with a 27" women's 10 speed and added the 16" front and a crank set from an old 20". My "lunch room" chair works quite well. I cut off the old cranks and added some spacer washers between the two large sprockets so I could fit on two chains. The CG is a bit high but I got used to it. It gets lots of looks when I am out and about. I think I am the only recumbent in my town."
