Print Copy - $8.00

CD - $6.00

This design and construction guide was written in response to many requests I've received over the years for a source for plans, instructions or drawings for the foot-powered treadle lathe shown on the cover above.
I have used this shop-built lathe at traditional woodworking demonstrations and it never fails to draw an interested crowd. It is also a practical tool, having a permanent home in the center of our traditional hand tool woodworking shop.

Download Free Copy

This E-book is available in either E-Book or Adobe Acrobat PDF format.

Self-extracting E-Book:
Windows 98, 2000, XP & Internet Explorer 4 or later, compatible.

This format is more interactive and effective on-screen but has limited printing capability (not intentionally).

When you click the Download button you will be asked if you want to save to disk; say Yes. Download time will vary depending on the quality of your Internet connection but if that is an issue for you I suggest the smaller file below. When the download is complete, just double-click on the file icon, "Lathe.exe" and the E-Book will display.

Adobe Acrobat PDF:
Requires Adobe Acrobat Reader 5 or later.

This format is less interactive on-screen but does print better. In general I think you will like the E-Book format better, but if a complete printed copy is important to you, then download the PDF version. Or do both!
