1. The story takes place in a future time and place.
Is this world believable? Can you imagine yourself living there? How far into the future
do you think it might be?
2. Were you comfortable with the characters' names? How
did you visualize the different characters? Did the names help or hinder your personal
visualization?
3. Did you relate more to one character or
another? Which one(s)? Why?
4. Caljn and friends used the Church of the Final God
as their cover. Could something similar happen within a church in your neighborhood? Why
or why not?
5. What did you think about the town square and its
layout? Was it a town you would enjoy living in or near? Can you imagine your town or city
making similar changes?
6. What would have happened if Neana had brought
Shahvid into her confidence about her visits with Caljn and the Power Movement's plans?
Jahon? Kasho? Binjer and Tamoi? Would it have helped, or hurt the final outcome?
7. Could you find any hope for Caljn? For Valjar? Do
you know anyone who reminds you of either of these two men? How do you react to them?
8. What differences do you see between Neana's world and
yours? What similarities?
9. Do you see the Neana's decision to be involved in
the killing of Caljn as right or wrong? Black, white, or gray? What do you think you would
have done if you had been in her position?
10. Can you see Chanthan, Sinat, Rafnon living in the
world you know today? Could a group such as Starpeace be active in your sphere of living?
Would you want it to? Would you be involved?
